Well this thread died a death so let's revive it with a maths question!

Image

No units but you can put your own in if you want. Apologies for the possible patronising inclusion of how to find area, but after some questions I've seen asked on here I thought it might be necessary. :lol:

Winner will receive a signed* picture of Denzel Washington.
If you want a clue the prize will be reduced to a signed* picture of Cher.

* by me.

Also in before any of the usual jokes, i.e. circling area and labelling "there it is" or stating "xy = area".

Yep.
3.125.

I did forget to post more pages, didn't I :oops:

I don't want the Cher poster though - if you've had it, I know it will have holes worn in certain areas...

Ding ding ding ding ding! Your prize will be with you within 10 business days.

area = 3.125

Bonus points for proving it! That means you can't just sub in numbers until it works, you need to find it the proper way!

I think this is GCSE maths? It has the level of pointless to it.

a=xy
2x+y=5
and
y=2x

Therefore
4x=5

Therefore
x=5/4=1.25
and
y=2*1.25=2.5

Therefore
a=1.25*2.5=3.125

Find x (both solutions)!
