What I need is something that I can fit at the beginning of a track day that the marshals can easily get to. Then I can take off for driving on the road.Donald wrote:I have several of these type safety lanyards Merlin:
I don't really have a use for them apart from being kinky. Can see exactly what I have and dig one out, yours for postage if you want it? Even if the clip/carabina is no good the actual strap material is very tough and has a decent length to it, probably enough to sort something out like wot wurly sez.

The OEM towing eye is perfectly fine for the road.
The situation that was described to me is that what if my car has been in the barrier, bumper half hanging off, mud and crap everywhere, tipping it with rain and the marshal needs to find my towing point
. I need something that is easily identifiable and able to take the car being pulled from any direction.
The towing strap is a winner for me but how do I attach it to the OEM towing point? Nafeman already said about sandwiching it with a couple bolts and plates. Is there something off the shelf that could do the job? I don't fancy spending the time to fab something up.
