Picking up on one of the things crunchy said; If someone buys a car just to get respect from the masses, I think that's a pretty unfortunate place to be really.

Agreed.

Although ultimately, at some level most people's motivation is a handy from the next guy, whether they realise it or not. I'll stop there before I upset someone

Power, handling and looks all in one package. ;)

If you find one for that money let me know lol.

P.S sorry about the S.A.
There are 2-3 DC2 bring broken on various forum, for £1k you could pick up the shell, add K20 engine £1K, JRSC £3k and then spend the rest of £2k on various other parts :) That's just a rough estimate.

:? guess I'm missing something here. Just looks like a civic with bells on.

a person wouldn't earn respect from me for owning this as a sports car. Not when you consider you can buy a real car with real performance for the same money. No one has mentioned this so far but why would you stay with FWD if given 7-8k to buy a fun car? I just cant understand that. FWD is not enough to ask that kinda money. Not enough by far.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

What annoys me most about Facebook car pages is everyone asking everyone else how they should build their car - "what colours do people like?", "what do people think of this spoiler?", "Do people think I should buy these wheels?" etc etc..

I look at it a different way. If you want a new(er) Honda that doesn't suck balls, will be a good all rounder in the dry/wet/road/track a DC5 seems a good one to have. How many other cars can say the same in a similar price and age bracket?

I have been on track with DC5's and have been fairly impressed with them in comparison to other cars of a similar age. They seem to shift fairly well and go the corners good (not overly heavy + decent brakes + Torsen LSD). Their brakes are much better than a Preludes. However would I buy one? Not when I have a Prelude. But if I wanted a newer coupé style car (for the road) then I would consider one.

As much I love Ludes I can see the case that battling rust and sticking calipers is no longer that appealing and that something newer is easier to live with.

agree with merlin, the rust battle gets tiresome & replacing rear calipers

although DC5 will probably rust at some point..

I imagine it to be like a newer prelude, which is not a bad thing

my next car I would have to try something totally different

then probably come back to a lude

:o Do the rear calipers not stick on DC5's also then? :? I thought this was an on-going affliction!
