Im really not doing that at all. If thats the impression I have given off its incorrect. I love most jap sports car and the dc5 is almost a car I never thought I would be able to afford. Lol. Just trying not to throw money away in the long run while ending up with a awsome car. I couldnt give a jobby if people do desire it if im honnest, just in this case they might.wurlycorner wrote:Picking up on one of the things crunchy said; If someone buys a car just to get respect from the masses, I think that's a pretty unfortunate place to be really.

I can not be dealing with the stress and amount of work that will take mate. Would be a great idea if I owned a garge, unfortunately I dont.nitin_s1 wrote:There are 2-3 DC2 bring broken on various forum, for £1k you could pick up the shell, add K20 engine £1K, JRSC £3k and then spend the rest of £2k on various other partscrigal.bb6 wrote:nitin_s1 wrote:For £7k Crunchy, I would go for JDM 98 spec DC2 with a Supercharged K20..![]()
Power, handling and looks all in one package.
If you find one for that money let me know lol.
P.S sorry about the S.A.That's just a rough estimate.

On a flip side I have started looking at jdm dc2's. As everyone seems to think that they are a better car??? Cheaper to buy so I can get a quad bike bike aswell for the summer.

I think im going to have to go test drive a few cars to be able to make up my mond. I also need to start factoring in insurance costs and part prices.
Point taken on board. Dc5 runnig cost as a daily are going to be less than a evo or a m3. Im still swaying all over the place about what to do. Insurance and running cost, age, will all contribute in my final decision.lewd lude lover wrote:guess I'm missing something here. Just looks like a civic with bells on.
a person wouldn't earn respect from me for owning this as a sports car. Not when you consider you can buy a real car with real performance for the same money. No one has mentioned this so far but why would you stay with FWD if given 7-8k to buy a fun car? I just cant understand that. FWD is not enough to ask that kinda money. Not enough by far.

dont get me wrong, its a damn good car in itself. Its just that or that money I would probably not have it on the list. Soon as you begin to take in usability day to day and fuel etc it coms back into focus though.
I'm a bit weird though. id spend 4k on a car and save the rest for the next 4 years maintenance

Ah, sorry mine also wasn't a comment aimed at you, you hadn't given that impression - I was making a general 'societal' commentcrigal.bb6 wrote:Im really not doing that at all. Super Secret 1G (not really super secret!)
I have love for Hondas of all ages and the dc5 is no exception. I have never had the opportunity to get in the drivers seat of one but I can't imagine for one second I'd be disappointed. I would definitely be happy to give one a home.
That said, if I had to choose between a well sorted dc5 and a well sorted prelude type s I would find it very difficult indeed to choose the integra.

lets face it its all about what you intend to use the car for as a daily driver along country lanes a dc5 or dc2 would be amazing. I suppose as a daily through traffic in town with speedhumps and bad roads you would have to be really hardcore to live with it,
The lude is the compromise car more torque so less gear swapping comfy for long or short journeys good cabin so no hearing every spec of dust hitting the floor pan great engine and chassis mix so you can keep up with the integras
I would probably go for an out and out power car if I get rid of the lude.
