Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Part numbers.

Post by GreenyUK » Wed Jun 18, 2014 6:52 pm

Hi all. Was just wondering if there is a site with all the prelude part numbers for every part?
I know we have lings but they aren't true numbers..? Every time I go to honda with a lings part number they don't recognise it.
And ask where I got it from, as soon as I say lings they roll their eyes and say "oh there, they arnt real honda part numbers!"

Would be helpful if there was somewhere, as we all know parts people are not the best at doing their jobs.

I tried to order the bonnet stay clip that attaches the stay into the body. It took a week and half of wrong parts before they inevitably got the right part.

lings, click the link for a part to add to basket, which reveals the correct Honda part number. ;)

 if you're only going to pop down to Honda to order the part in and then go back to collect it when it's arrived, is it not just as easy/cheap to just mail order it from Lings in the first place? :? (says he not having done the latter so not actually knowing what costs are involved...)

Lings delivery costs are shocking for small items, minimum £6 for anything, I just call my local dealer, and pop round the next day.

Go onto lings and find the part. Then in the address bar remove the "_pfk" before the php and press enter and you will now have original part numbers.

Lings are mostly idiots.

I've dealt with them in person on a number of occasions and considering the Norfolk dealership is the largest Honda parts warehouse in Europe, they come across as clueless.

Also took them multiple back-and-forth emails to even figure out what Prelude I have to quote for some work and then they didn't even quote for what I'd asked for.

As Vtecmec says their postage is sky high.

I took their claim that:

Our Harleston, Norfolk dealership is home to our European Parts Warehouse which is the single largest stockist for Honda parts in Europe.

to = largest by parts, rather than actual size. If that makes sense. Probably should've worded it different.

So either way, they're claiming they have a greater selection of parts than the place in Belgium or more parts in total, or both, or neither and they're lying.

Like I said, idiots.

They are definitely lying, by whichever method they try and apply!
It is possible they could hold more stock than any other dealer of course!
