Unless you have it installed properly and only use on track, what's the point? Just asking for spinal injuries etc.

I lean this way as well. People disregard this important safety tip. I didn't (and wouldn't) use a harness until I got my roll cage and a proper seat. The roof of the Lude is so low in comparison with other cars. It is so low that my helmet only has a few mm clearance from my roll cage.

If you do go for a harness get a 5 or 6 point as 4 points can allow you to slip out of the bottom during a crash.

Exactly this! Harness are a pain in a road car if done up properly. Try changing the radio.

I hate driving my 4G on the road. It takes a minute or so to strap yourself in an get comfy before you can set off. You either struggle to find all the straps or painfully sit on them, have to shuffle your junk around so you don't get squished balls, and then try and not hit yourself in the face when whipping the shoulder straps over your shoulder when taking it off.

That said on track harnesses are the shizzle. Ball squishidge is well worth it.

I just don't think standard seatbelts on a decent set of buckets looks that good, looks out of place to me

Or doing anything that requires even the smallest of body movement...! Daft idea for a road car. My mate had them in a Nova, it was the funniest thing ever

That said, I have seen retractable harnesses with regular seat belt style roller things which allow you to lean forward etc and yet still have the 'look' of a racecar..
