driveshafts where to buy new? Seriously!

Post by G-lude » Sat Jun 28, 2014 3:29 pm

I've been meaning to join a lude forum for a while now, and now seems to be the best point. I cannot find the axle shafts for the 5g prelude anywhere in the uk? Anyone know of any place which does them for a good price?

you'll probably be able to get some from someone on here...but if you want re-conditioned most motor factors can source them.

Still struggling to find some new driveshafts, even reconditioned! Is there no uk company which stock these? When I had my civic you could find tons! For the prelude they are all overseas O.o

I haven't looked myself, but have you tried rock auto? They normally have a comprehensive load of spares listed for ludes whenever I have looked.

welcome to lude ownership civics are ten a penny so parts are easy to come by ludes are a niche car and as such parts are not widely available.
most specialists will be able to help though find a driveshaft reconditioner and take yours to him or buy the parts from the states and recondition them yourself

You can just buy the CV joints and fit those to the existing shaft.

Provided they're for the right gen and gearbox, the only difference I can think of would be abs/non abs? Not aware of any other differences. Any 5th gen owners know any different?

Don't forget to use the LG discount code if you're ordering from rock auto ;-)
