If so many of my friends didn't rely on it as their only form of communication I would've deleted it ages ago.

I don't mind Facebook as I have deleted all the people that send stupid game requests and pointless statuses updates, I hate the attention seekers on there so they get kicked off my list.
I use it a bit like the forum just updates in things I think similarly minded people would be interested in.
I also use it for work advertising as it's free and gets people talking about us a lot
