@mills i'll give it a try tomorrow. i just happened to see one of my friends (i know its hard to believe i have some :lol: ) he suggested getting one of the engine start buttons off egay instead of replacing the ignition & stuff. whats peoples thoughts on that?

It's a cool mod for sure 8-) but give the starter a go 1st, I had exactly the same symptoms, and luckily a spare starter motor :lol:

If rocking in gear doesn't work and you don't have a rubber mallet, might I suggest a whack with a shoe? Really! Worked for me a couple of times.





Edit: usually easier if you take it off first.

Have u checked the earths? And that the battery is connected properly?

Couldn't agree more with all the suggestions so far - before bining the ignition switch, try all the other things.

Check battery connections are tight and clean, check all engine earths are connected and clean/making good contact, whack the starter motor (don't fanny about, give it a really good whack with a big spanner or wrench or something like that ;-) ) try jumping from another car and only then start looking at the ignition switch.

Checked the connections & tryed jumping it off another car. Gonna give it a whack tomorrow :lol: then if that fails ignition it is

The issue is the 2 wires that initiate the starter motor on the barrel have snapped
