You have the SOHC 12v carb engine.

Very rare xx 4ws.

If this was a manual i would be all over it. I love the carbed engine 3rd Gen. Very responsive and light weight.

Maybe a manual conversion????

Give it me. 8-)

I would love to get manual on this, will put some thoughts and see what comes up in the next few weeks. Maybe I will need to change the title to "Ju5Ta5 red JDM 3gen"

Doesnt mean anything.
The XX4ws was a fully loaded 3rd Gen with 4ws etc but had the carb SOHC engine.

back to my 5th gen (3rd gen still sitting without any work or decisions made)

It has been a super busy week, had no time for anything but yesterday my 5th gen screamed for attention. this time was front pads  I think a got replacements just in time 8-)

the job was meant to be easy, but then after 2 weeks or so of no rain, it started just the wrong time

the disc screws were so tight, I had to borrow a tool from halfords for a job
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/garage ... river-bits

It came with 4 or 5 philips screw bits and I could not believe when on the first attempt the bit just went into pieces  same did the second one :o luckily the other 2 took all 4 retaining screws off and the discs were finally off :)

Then brake pads were somehow too big  turns out it was rust underneath the bottom plate (a lot of rust)

installation was really easy and took literally no time and here is the result:

I resprayed all screws with wd40 to ease the things next time when I find time for the springs and check suspension noise from front driver side somewhere. Also used copper ease this time, so pads and discs should be an easy job next time.

My lude's engine bay looked so dirty at the meet, so had a wash today :)

from this:

It does look a bit better and well, at least it is clean now  It has also revealed a lot of rust
Out of all, rocker cover and heat shield are the biggest and most noticeable parts which need attention to make it nicer :)

Just cannot decide what colour rocker cover to do: red, gold or blue? I think blue and sparkle yellow could do well together, any thoughts?

Keep it red in my opinion as that is the proper a8 colour.

Two of my mates voted for red too :)

I am a bit scared to go under the car (due to rust) :o but had to do it today and found this:

So far, I have been ahead of my lude and been collecting parts before they actually need replacing :) Full exhaust has been sitting for awhile now, it will have to be replaced very soon now

got so many bits waiting to go on the car, but no time to do them all :x

You could slap some exhaust putty over that as a quick temporary fix.
