rear reg plate recess uk/jdm import

Post by Hashiriya San » Tue Jul 29, 2014 2:26 am

I couldn't find a thread to find what I need, basically is the JDM boot the same as UKDM, is it just the recess that is different and if so can I buy an import one???

Cheers
James

Morning!

the Recess is UK yes, the JDM one has a recess but its moulded. eBay has several rear bumpers and also try this:

I believe the mounting holes are different if you want to fit a UKDM number plate surround into a JDM boot and vice versa

But if you are swapping the entire boot I can't see a problem, the wiring should be the same. or if its not just swap the looms over

I just bought a JDM whole bootlid mate,
It's alot easier than trying to swap the recess over
I think @nucleustylzlude did it?

4th gen?
The bootlid itself is exactly the same, it's just the moulded insert for the plate that's different. You can swap them from one bootlid to another to your heart's content, with no hassle...

Yep, exactly. That's what I was saying (about the plate insert).

I've also mentioned that I have a bonnet and bootlid available... It's rather as if something has got lost in translation though!
