New addition..

Post by Daniel » Sun Jul 27, 2014 11:06 pm

So operation restore Lude Type s stepped up a gear as I have taken the car off the road so I will actually get some of the much needed work done on it.

So i was in the market for a daily tramp and I bagged this for pennies :)

a bit tatty but a bargain,

so does anyone on here know if preface lift and face lift accord type r headlights, bonnet and bumper are interchangeable as they look the same but im unsure on the mount points,

Also it has idles at 1500 to 2k rpm and the rev needle just bounces around and the engine is hunting between the revs. is this the sensor on the throttle body that has failed ???

finally I have a mechanical supercharged type whine while on the move any ideas ?? im thinking it could be in the clutch or the timing belt tension-er.

thanks

Dan

I had this happen to me only yesterday, after crapping myself for 10 minutes I noticed that there was a vac line disconnected from the intake - I put that back on and it was perfect again! :D Let's hope yours is something simple too.

thanks for the input guys, its been sitting in the garden doing nothing for the last week so I went and had a look around it today, 1st ball ache is some genius took the engine management bulb out, I knew it was gone before I purchased but he was hiding something prob o2 sensors are shot, 2nd noted ball ache is the flexi on the down pipe is broke, 3rd is leaking oil badly on the back of the engine, it looks like its high up so i'm thinking its from the rocker gasket which is caked with black gasket sealer,

Brakes are shot, tires are shot, was tapped front and back before but not hard as everything chassis and structure and panel wise looks straight and none of the type r garnish is present.

on the plus side the timing belt and all other belts are new, coolant looks fresh, suspension and all surrounding bits are tight, interior looks like it will clean up well even tho its that dirty it looks brown and the smell inside is something fierce, its like something died in it.

But all in all it only cost me €300 or 200 odd pound, I believe we have a winner :D
