I agree with you on that mate I love my track car but it's fast approaching the point of no longer being used daily as the implications of not having a couple of spare seats to pick my kids up is sometimes annoying you may see me purchasing a 5th or ATR soon to compensate this lol

Yo dude, unless you can get another 50bhp out the motor your not going to notice a huge difference.

I would look at the following:

1. Grip, whats yr 60ft times?
2. Cold air intake, try and get that last few percent out the motor for not much outlay.
3. Save weight. There are little things u can do such as lightweight battery saves 10kg, remove cast iron lugs on top of the engine mounts, that's like 2kg and free! Take everything out the boot etc

Not only will the weight help your 0-60, 1/4 mile etc the car will handle better.

i found last time i went launching above around 2k rpm was causing too much wheel spin on the line. i do need to work on my starts though as i wasnt too happy with the this time round. different tyres though so im guessing i wasnt used to them.
No wheel spin, wheel hop. Where the wheels judder up and down as the wheel gets and brakes traction due to the wheel moving back and forward in the wheel well. My 5th gets a bit of this.
wheel hop didnt seem too bad running the nearly slick yokohamas ash.z lent me for the day.
Is that a typo? 5K?

Polybushing the suspension will give increased grip for launches, as well as fitting a traction bar.

no typo. that was the case with the old tyres i was using, anything over about 2.5k rpm and i would be sat there on the line for ages waiting for the wheels to get traction. looking back on the other day with the yokohamas i think i could have launched higher.

the several times ive done it, 50% of it is how you get off the line - you can have the lightest best set up lude around but if you mash the start, then the rest will be poo. ive been told go on amber, not green as by the time you react then it will be green, you'd be surprised how slow most of us are lol! but that very fine line between rpm, clutch release and when you squeeze the accelerator counts for a lot, as ive found out

Unless you're dragging professionally, the reaction times don't count against the final trap time.

As a hobbyist, It's best to take a couple of seconds of your time after the light goes green and try to find the best point to launch.
