3g relays - help locating please?

Post by wurlycorner » Thu Aug 28, 2014 1:23 pm

Rear fog doesn't work on my 3g. Only getting 0.1V at the bulb when the switch is on, next step is to check the rear fog relay but... I can't find the fecker!

According to the service manual, it's in a line of other relays in the drivers foot well. Bolloxed if I can find them though!!! :evil:

I have the panel under the steering column off, I have the kick panel off and I can see;
- The fuse box
- The main relay
- The Cruise Control unit
And...

That's it!

:evil:

Where are the bloody things? Searching t'interweb just brings up useless american site results. Anyone know please?

Thanks

:think:
Looking at the diagram in the service manual some more, it seems to be suggesting they're mounted on the back of a bracket that the cruise control unit is mounted to (so hidden behind the cruise unit)?
Cruise control unit doesn't look to be mounted on a big bracket to me though :? Guess I'd better get busy dismantling more of the dash though :x
:roll: All this just to check a realy :evil: lots of bits on 3g's aren't the most accessible or user-friendly to work on, it must be said...

Yep, had the whole trim piece under the steering column out.

Found them in the end. They are behind the cruise control unit, after pulling back the carpet I could see the bottom of them and the bolt holding them in. Meant to be easy to remove - loosen bottom bolt, pull them away from the firewall slightly, then down and they should slide out from behind the cruise control unit. Not happening though. Had to unbolt the cruise control unit. Not fun... But meh, sorted now.
