Well, err, because the statement, "4-plug is with TCS. You can use it, but you need to splice a couple of the wires to get the tachometer to work." was not correct as nothing needs splicing.

37820-P13-N01 is the part number for facelift manual vtec BB4 if you want to get the exact same ecu but as others have said you can use certain other ones
