Rob, I'd set your engine to TDC before taking the cams out, combined with marking the belt/pulleys this is probably the best way to avoid a mistake :)

Also, try to get in touch with a Cat Cams distributor - they make the cams in Europe so no import duty etc. plus iirc they can make cams specifically for the B20A1 ;)

i know this is gana sounds really stupid, how would i know when its at TDC? both valves on No 1 piston closed?

I've asked Cat cams so waiting for a reply from them, are they expensive do you know? Actually the place im gettin the dyno run is a cat cams distributor so i can ask them too if i can get a price.
The place also stock KMS ECU's, does that replace my current one or just add on to an existing ECU?

EDIT:

sorry to drag this topic back up haha.
I'm pretty sure because the injectors are so old you can really feel at low revs it spluttering. To me the injectors are blocked but they are the original 27 year old ones so it is to be expected lol.

What are my best options with these?
Get them reconditioned or
Get some slightly bigger ones - H22, s13 etc

I was thinking about it earlier, because i have such a stupidly big induction pipe and some of the original pipe to get more air directly to it its going to have to put a lot more petrol in to cope with that. So even though i can't really re-map the ECU slightly bigger injectors may be okay to use as they can cope with throwing a bit more in?

Cheers :)

You should be able to take the injectors off and get them tested I think, to determine whether there is anything wrong with them or not?

If you're running a stock ECU with a modified engine, I'm not suprised it's not running perfect. You need to be looking at a tuneable ECU and setup really.

How much were they? Im sure when I asked ages ago they were about £700 plus vat lol.

Still trying to figure out the ecu problem. I think my only option is to send my ecu to have a chip with a new map installed.
I don't know of any pre OBD stand alone Ecu's and with all the vacuum pipes that are used to run the car I'm not sure a standalone will be able to run :/

Ah I see, not understanding how the 2nd gen work at all, is it just the dizzy advance that is vacuum controlled? can a later electronic advance dizzy be retrofitted? And the car upgraded to OBD 1?
