starter not engaging

Prelude running fine ,,,WAS !!
Yesterday got in turned key, nothing??
turned again nothing ? everything working lights horn fogs everything
tried again started ? all fine started several times during day no problem

Then again this morning nothing ? this time several tries.... no start :roll: ?

I changed a duff ignition barrel thing a few months ago, but been fine ever since till yesterday.
Starter just wont engage...relays clicking under dash but nothing.

car is a F22B / Auto.

Any help or advice please

Sounds like the solenoid in the starter mate.

Alternator and starter refurbishers can get the part you need for a few quid. The starter is easy to strip down, check the service manual.

If you want to double check its the starter, just apply 12v to thesmall terminal...think it's a blue n white wire. If the starter engages then its the wiring.

Check the actual main power feed to the starter aswell.

I had a corroded alternator main feed wire that stumpted me for days!

Next time it doesn't turn over, give the starter motor a good whack on the case, with a heavy spanner.
If that sorts it, your solenoid is sticking or brushes are worn/sticking.

Also check your battery terminals are clean and tight and the battery is in good condition (you can get a garage to test that for you).

Thanks Guys starter has burnt out ?? worrying ....rebuilt replacement for £50 locally ...so jobs a good one,
gonna do timing belt and oil change pre winter service while the starters out out for a day or two
