Auto to manual conversion

Post by vtecred » Thu Oct 16, 2014 12:46 pm

I know this has been covered a good few times before but I've recently seen a prelude I like but it has auto transmission and I'm not keen on them I know it can be converted to manual how much labour is involved and what sort of prices am I looking at ?

Well its more or less bolt on :) so if you know how to use tools you can do it in couple evenings or even in one day. Pm to those who breaking ludes they will tell you price of parts you need. Its an easy job as i did by my self last summer.

So are you looking to pay someone to do the conversion, or do it yourself?

There will be a bit of wiring to mess about with too as well as the main mechanicals - nothing too serious though basically need to fool the car into thinking its in park so it gives you your key back. Might want to also think about the dash and the 'what gear you are in indicator' as well if you want it to end up looking completely manual

You should be able to pick up all the parts you need for around £150, minus the service items (new clutch, gearbox oil, clutch fluid etc.)
