Wikipedia is wrong?

It says the H22A is 217bhp and the H22A8 is 197bhp.

That's the wrong round isn't it?!

No.

The TypeS and S-Spec H22A were 217.
H22A8 197.
All other H22A 197.

But the H22A8 shares the same cams, TB size, intake etc. as the TypeS... guff tune for UK IMO, the 'slight P&P' is overstated IMO.

Ok, ta.
But yes, Wikipedia is still wrong... because the H22A was actually 197 (except in a very limited number of models much later on in its life)

Also, why the hell didn't Honda call the Type-S/S-Spec engine H22A9? It's blatently not an H22A - the block isn't even the drokking same! :roll:

Yes the ATTS block engine is an h22a4 modified.

H22 just denotes any JDM vtec lude.

Something I found out the other day.
I thought BB1 = Vtec +4ws
BB4 = Vtec +2ws

but apparently in the US some BB1s came without 4ws?

On a similar note, how do I find out what car my engine came from? I have a UK spec bb8 and on the vin it says it should be a h22a8 but the engine number is completely different to the one on the vin and it says it's a h22a. Also it has a (flaky) red rocker cover.

Any help would be awesome.
