£250 budget sub build :)

Hey guys, I've drawn up a box to make to fit pretty much the back of the boot, it can only be X2 10" subs so will need the amp and capacitor as well.

So these are the drawings:

I have no idea where to look or what to get sub wise, as i only have £250 i dont know what the best way round it will be.
My current sub is a single 12" jbl and i ideally want more power so ive been looking at these pioneer 1200W subs

But would this need a mega powerful amp to cope? it does only leave me £125 for an amp and capacitor and cables :/

Any other ideas on what i could buy and what the best options would be?

Whats is your current amp for the sub?

What do you want to achieve?

i think its only a 600w amp for the 12" jbl which is 1200w.

I want to achieve quite a high level of bass but without compromising too much on quality. i felt my single jbl wasnt quite enough bass for me haha

i believe its a fusion one, im not at home to check, but yeah pretty sure its a fusion amp with jbl 1200w 12" sub atm.

Forget about your sub and amps max power.

Your JBL sub will be around 300w RMS so it will on see and like 300w most of the time and if the amp can deliver more power then the sub will be "able" to handle higher musical peaks for those split seconds.

You wont find an amb capable of safely producing over 1000w for under £300 generally.

Those Pioneer subs are 350w RMS but have an excellent sensitivity of 93w 1m/1w same as your JBL.

Adding another sub off the same single amp might/might not make you go any louder as you will be halving the power between the 2 subs depending on how your wire it up or doubling the power if your amp is cable of running 2ohms.

IMO
Get a decent quality amp that can produce 300-600w RMS and a 12" or bigger sub of the same power.

THen you have to think about box design. Bigger enclosures might make the sub hit the lower notes better but will be quieter. Smaller encolsures will not hit the lows as well but will sound more punchy and louder. You need to get it right as per the subs manual on specific enclosure sizes and if your adding a port to tune it to a certain frequency.

I run a 12" Fi IB3 sub in an infinite baffle (IB) configuration meaning my boot IS the enclosure mounted to the back seat. IB means the enclosure is infinitely large so air can escape through the boot vents etc but the front and the back of the sub are separate to each other as i have sealed off the cabin to the boot.
Not all subs play IB because the sub has no back pressure meaning it really hit the super low notes due to the cones ecsessive movement My sub is built for it though and it also goes very loud and offers epic sound quality.
My amp is a Genesis Dual mono bridged to give 400w to my 300-500w RMS sub. But playing everyday music my sub never sees over 200w and it gets too loud.

The only issue I have is that the current sub has to go in the spare wheel space to fit. The height i have only allows for 10" so what's why I've decided with that and having 2, getting like 2 800w subs will that make it easier on an amp? Obviously it'll be a 4 channel amp just need to find a suitable one lol, found a few that can just handle the pioneers but there around 150-200

Il keep looking for ideas. The enclosure I thought was pretty sstandard but I can change it to suit what sub I end up with before it's built

Right i think i have decided what I'd like to put in it now, thank you for your help, i would just stick with a single 12" ssub but i have to put it in the spare wheel hole and it could never sit properly so with the space i have available unless i put them at a mad angle i can only fit 10's

I've down sized and thinking about X2 Lanzar USA Max Bass Driver 10" 4 Ohm 800w

Amp im not too sure about, either PowerBass XMA-4160IR 4-CHANNEL (1st link) or a Lanzar EV594 4000w Evolution 5 Channel amp (2nd link)

Looking at the specs the powerBass one seems to have a better RMS output but im not too sure haha.
Aswell as this i'd need a capacitor which will be suitable, does anyone know what id need for this set up?

And also new power and earth cable which again i have no idea what size il need
