Great updates, loving all the new paintwork and paint-correction.

Out of interest are you using 1k or 2k paint with your airgun? I've been painting a fuel cap with spray-cans for my brothers old car lately and surprised how well it has come out. Tempted to do some small resprays on my car this way but also thinking it will chip and scratch much easier than a 2-part paint with hardener.

Cheers guys, I've used 2k Upol stuff, clear coat 2 or something like that, though I have read that upol do a 1k gun laquer for smart repairs that is reasonably well rated.

Anyway you've reminded me that I need to update this later with a few little bits.............

31 pages in one night ...zzzZZZZ

Kidding! :-)

Wow - and I thought my rust by the aerial motor was bad! Lol

When u replied my post about -
De-rust gel
Scale x
Add wax etc etc
I thought, wow thats s lot of steps?!!!

After reading this thread - yes, u deffo OCD ;-)

Learnt sooo much about rust removal here.
Still trying to get my head round which product, when and the order of the steps to use!

U may have explained already - but
1. Why wrap the gel in cling?
- how long for?
2. What is your day job? U move houses as much as the weather changes in this county

It seems this forum never ceases to amaze me with members amazing car restoration projects!!!

Keep up the good work mate.
It maybe one step forward and 10 backs at times (as u said) but there is ALWAYS a light at the end of the tunnel - in your case a very very bright one :-)

It prevents it from drying out, leave it 24 hours then wipe it off and reapply if necessary, but the warmer it is the faster it works. Regularly agitating it with a brush helps things along too.

Remarkable, having read throught this thread, I salute your dedication and resourcefullness with your car build. :10:

Luckily mine isn't quite so rusty having lead a pretty sheltered life, having only only covered 2k a year, i've done double that in 5 months of ownership, but the body work needs a fair amount of dent removal and paint to get any where near as good as yours, i hate to think whats its cost you to get to this, mines cost almost 3 times what i paid for the car and i'm still only half way through sorting the tired suspension.

I think i have a long road ahead of me
