Rear fog light fuse

Post by jiblet » Thu Dec 04, 2014 10:40 am

Hi guys
I've looked through the wiki
I've looked in the fuse boxes in engine bay and foot well and I can't find a fuse for the fog lights
Am I just being dumb and blind or is the fuse for fog lights labelled something else ?
thanks for help

You wont find any help in the service manuals as those documents are for US Ludes, and they don't have rear fog lights ;)

Is the fuse location not shown in the glove box hand book? You could pull every fuse individually and check?

I'll have a look in the handbook if I've got it .
Pulling every fuse will be the way forward I think . All I can find on fuse box lid is daylights and light relay and they ok as lights brakes and indicators and sides are working. The bloke before has wired in front fogs that are in line fused and that fuse is ok and there's 12v going to it but I can't make the relay click . So I was thinking they activated from the switch for the rear fog but switch lights up but the green light dosent
Cheers for your help

I doubt the fuse for the fog light in in the engine bay fuse box. It will more than likely be in the foot well fuse box as that is where the front fog bits are.

Yeah if the green light doesn't come on then it is probable that the relay isn't getting powered, hence why the fog light is not coming on.

Check bulb socket
Check with tester if u got a live by switching the button on and off at the fog light wiring
Had a similar problem couldnt find a fuse and there wasnt one
So its the bulb housing or the wires going into it tht are corroded rusted

Hope this helps
Let us know how u get on.

Is this on a UKDM 5th gen?
In which case, look at page 23-232 of the 4th gen manual. I expect 5th gens have the same wiring?

In which case, runs off the same fuse as the tailights/license plate lights etc. No.42 in the engine fuse box, via the headlight stalk on the steering column.

Couldn't find a fuse or a relay in the end .
So I traced the wire from the fog light to the foot well,
And spliced a connector in, and then a switch and then to a live on the fuse box .
It's not ideal because there's a risk of turning it on by mistake but will get it through mot [WHITE SMILING FACE]
