3G: Engine noise sound ok?

My only other thought is that something has come loose inside the engine bay and is rattling around. Does the noise get louder and more frequent as the engine revs higher and lower?

Home now and i dont want to go out in cold now

But no oil leak from engine anymore (did before garage fix the leak).

So cant see why oil is low now?
Esp garage also changed engine oil ...

Might get my 9year old to sit in car and rev to check 2moro!

Iain: Not had chance to check engine noise yet ref. the vibration in the morning.

Wayne, check oil level on dipstick first thing before start up. If low, then top up before starting. You may want to take the oil filler cap off, and see if there is any scoring to the most visible cam lobes using a torch. On start up, check the oil warning light goes out, if not, turn off immediately.

And also check for any loose brackets or fixings under the engine bay that may be rattling around.

Mileage should be irrelevant on a B20 as they are robust units, mines done nearly 160k now with no signs of wear, fingers crossed.

Will have a look around 2moro!
Car is booked in on Sat 20th so garage can have a proper look at that vibration over 3 mornings (mon-wed).

Might get them to look at the engine again ref those engine noise on this thread.

Or shall i take to different garage? ....will see...

I didn't know tbh (not looked into the engine much yet), so just looked in the manual to check...
They do have manual tappets, so yes it could be tappets.

Blinkin 'eck, wurly, just checked my manual, and you're right, they are manually adjusted , I always assumed they were hydraulic, I am now not sure if mine have been adjusted in the 14 years and 70k miles since I've owned it, but suffice to say, never had any issues with them, perhaps the garage I use have been adjusting them without marking as a separate item on the bill. surprised either way.
