Same with mazda/ford/jag/land rover.
That's missing my point - what I'm saying when you're spending Bentley money on a car, having it shouted at you in the face that you've just paid over the odds for Golf parts, is a pretty jobby oversight. Either lose the bloody logo's all together, or at least include the Bentley logo on them as well!

I doubt that modern RR parts have the BMW logo plastered all over them, for example...

Yeah, it's the blueprint philosophy taken to the 'n'th degree sadly.

Prelude clutch master cylinder made by Nissin in a blue box - £55 inc.
Prelude clutch master cylinder made by Nissin in a Honda box - £150+vat.

I don't see a problem with using the parts themselves, more that you pay so much more for something exactly the same.

A lot of Nissin brake items are actually made in Thailand, may predominantly be their bike parts, but would not surprise me if the car parts are made there as well.

You have to maximise profits somewhere. Using pparts of another cheaper vehicle is one way.

However I agree curley wurley.....it doesn't justify the humongous price increase. But people pay for brands.

Nooooo...
What I meant wasn't about up pricing (though they're valid comments of course!) it was...
The parts aren't made by VAG, they're made by an oem, so the VAG logo's must get put on them at VAG request.
That's fine when those parts are going onto a VAG vehicle, but when you buy a Bentley, you don't want to look round it to find that everything has a VAG logo on it - you'd ideally want to see just a Bentley logo, or if not that either no logo's, or even the Bentley logo ASWELL as VAG logo's.

I was just astounded at the utterly jobby attention to detail on the part of Bentley/VAG.
ANY other solution would have been better than what they had done; VAG AND Bentley logo's, or NO logo's would be ok.
But JUST VAG logo's? :suicide:

Niisin used to make calipers for Triumph in the early John Bloor / Hinckley days, they were marked up as.....Triumph, despite being identical to those used on several Hondas of the same period. So if it's feasible on low volume m/cycles. it must be feasible for higher volume / value cars.

I agree wurley its all about attention to detail and that just says we really don't care what goes on as long as it does the job I bet they don't charge vag prices though when you go to buy spares
