No but looking to a move up there come spring, maybe. Big maybe so far but all go.

So far it seems to come out as ''The Cotswolds of the North'' which is ok by me. Considering all the places we could find ourselves an affluent farming area is not so bad

@simonc no mate. I have only ever been that far up country a couple of times and as ratty says I drive a beeeeemr as a daily atm.

So. Anyone know anyone with any land they fancy renting out for a year come spring?   :D

Yep, I was going to say, it is indeed quite an affluent farming area.

York is ridiculously expensive (literally London prices) and that effect does spread outwards from it. Plus Harrogate is similar.

My friends that lived in Northallerton certainly knew a pretty broad spectrum of people up that way - both their parents were teachers! They moved to Wales over ten years ago though, but I can always ask them if they still have any contacts etc.

you'll need deep pockets around that area. Well by Northern standards at least. It is a very nice area though.

Not looking for any buying guys. though that smallholding is cracking :D if a little over priced.

It would be a move for work and a step 1 of our liveinavanplan.

perfect would be find a small farm we could lease a barn and a field from for a year for us and the ponies to live in.

Well we wouldn't be so bloody depressed if we didn't have so many english neighbours. They reckon Middlesbrough is nice james, good value too ;)

Wales is not somewhere I would buy land to live on. Develop yes, live no.

We'll be looking for a place just north of york i would think. Thirsk, pickering molton kinda places. We have a long way to go before we know but the seed is there non the less.
