3rd Gen Alternator

Post by fefelarue » Thu Jan 29, 2015 9:37 am

I'm after a fully working alternator for my 3rd gen 4ws 2.0 150bhp.

Just bought one but it doesn't fit, must have been for a different 3rd gen prelude..

Let me know what you have, thanks!

In what way doesn't it fit?

What's different about it?

Pics?

Sometimes the mounting posts can be a bit of a tight fit, may need small amount of grinding off of one of the mounting brackets on the alternator body. F.W.I.W. My B20A& auto alternator is marked up thus: 100211 04/07/08 9980 X933437. Hope this helps. F.Y.I. it originally cost 218 quid fitted.

I'm in Tonbridge, Kent.

It doesn't fit; the pulley is too narrow for the belt AND the casing fouls on the tensioner bracket thingy. It would require about an inch of grinding away. It's already in the post back, so no pics I'm afraid - but trust me it's the wrong one!

I have no problem finding the correct one new, I just don't reeeeally wanna pay £130 for it when maybe someone has a second hand one? :D

Thanks for the offer pal.

I only paid £110 for a new one in the end so I think I'll stick with this one just for peace of mind.

If you were letting it go for like a tenner or something I probably would have, but I'll pass thanks :)

Okay so the new one didn't fit either haha. The plug is wrong.

Does your plug have 3 or 4 pins Hondaboy?
