Oil recommendation for 3g

just wondering if you can advise what grade oil to use on my 3rd Gen, ive checked opie oils and they recommend 5w40, another recommendation is 5w30 .. im a little confused what oil are you using ?

I'd imagine it's 10/40.

10/40 or 15/40 semi or mineral, for me. Every 6 months or 6.000 miles. Never had any engine issues. I'm yet to be convinced that fully synth is suitable for older engines. Similar thoughts on my old motorcycles.

10/40 semi synth for the UK climate will be the service book recommendation, I would put money on it.
