I went a long to a little Honda Modified meet on Sunday.
Was an invite through the Facebook page Honda Modified UK.

Travelled there with Dannny off here.
Was good to meet him and see the epic turbo build he has done. Wasn't the biggest turn out, which I think annoyed the organiser but was a good way to spend a Sunday morning.

Below are some pics from the meet. Nothing special just ones I took on my phone, there should be some better quality ones coming soon from actual photographers.

I also tackled another small job of my list of things I want to do to my Lude.
I noticed previously that the speaker wiring wasn't the best, and it did at one point scare the hell out of me when all of my warning lights came on at once due to a rogue wire touching the bodywork.
Anyway this was the issue...

And this is a together before and after. A lot neater and safer.

Of course this is when I also discovered one of my speakers was throwing out a lot of resistance, thinking this is due to a build up of paint dust getting into it from the coachworks. So I am now going to take the speaker apart and see if I can clean it up and get it working again.

I also went back to the coachworks as I had highlighted a few areas I was not happy with on the paint work.
Some minor imperfections. A couple of small runs, a slight bit of 'orange skin' where the paint wasn't smoothed back before being covered, etc.
This was part of the agreement so I am going to compile a list and drop it in at the end of the month. Then I will have her back and ready for Mimms :D

Yep, when there a few lude owners out this way that went to Mimms regularly, we used to pre-meet at a BP on the A12. The Chelmsford Honda dealership is a couple of hundred yards away and I was thinking of arranging the pre-meet for there the next time. Warmed them up about it an everything... But unfortunately the numbers out this way have dropped a bit/we're not all regular attenders anymore/it's not en-route since Mimms has been moving around :(

Bet laid plans and all that...

Dropped her back today.
Just to tidy up the minor scuff I caused, and fix some little runs and smooth couple areas I wasn't happy with.

Will have her back Thursday in time for Mimms 8-) 8-)

So after umming and ahhing, discovering demon tweeks. I've taken the plunge and ordered some bits I've wanted for a while. :scaredtoss:

So on order I've got:
OMP Corsica steering wheel - black suede titanium spokes. 8-)
Quick Release steering wheel boss. ;)
Brembo Front brake pads.
Black Diamond Drilled/Grooved Front brake discs.
Black Diamond Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines.

Should all be arriving next week or two. :D 8-) :D 8-)

There is not too much more I want to do to the car now.
I'm just thinking long game now and keeping an eye out for a H22A7 and gearbox. Then a visit to get it tuned :ugeek:

In the mean time here's a couple of pictures.
Before, and semi after of fitment of licence plate mount. Need to tidy it up a bit still so it sits right.

Going to spend some time on her tomorrow. Clean up the engine bay a bit more and fit a cheeky tow strap.

Re: Petee's Lude 4th Gen H23 - Rays Stark MS

Post by prahunt » Sat Apr 18, 2015 4:12 pm

A lovely sunny day, so I decided I needed to sort some bits on the Lude.
So I straightened up the number plate mount a bit. Still a pain. But it's better than it was.
Then I fitted my LUKE tow strap to the front. Balance it out a bit.
And then I got involved with my strut brace. eBay special....

I got it fitted okay. Except the bracket where the throttle cable and clutch reservoir sits I couldn't get it back into place to bolt on.
Anyone else got this problem?

I also tightened up the BC's a bit on the front end. The back is a quarter turn of full stiff now, so the front was feeling a bit soft.

Then I got a message of my mate. He had his alloys off and said about popping round to fit them. Now I'd been thinking of stripping the Works back to metal and keeping them bare.
Got down there. Rejigged the driveway around and then.... 8-)

I really like it. But they do scrub slightly more on the rear, however I am planning to raise this up slightly. So I've swapped the Works Kai Emotions for Rays Stark MS.
Anyway. She now needs a good clean in prep for tonight. :D
