@wurly: I cant remember :D ask rich. I think he said something about differing grades of oil letting more or less slip. its an aid but the problem is still there.

I think most of us who ever had a 5th gear crunch quickly learned how to slip it in so it was smooth. change the oil and your driving and suddenly the problems 'event horizon' recedes.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

This one looks like it could be a good buy.
Can't see any rust (though I am looking at the pics on my phone) and it's a low mileage UKDM facelift, currently going cheap.

Just to throw my 2p in about imports. We import cars, any shape Prelude from Japan is going to cost you at least £3.5k, with 5th gen Type S' and Spec's going for £5k+.

After reading all of this, all I can see is 2.2 vetch... it's VTEC - you even got it right in your first post!

Your main issue with a 4th gen, providing the engine isn't pissing oil everywhere, is rusty arches. Look for one that has been repaired properly. Other than that, they are awesome cars :)
