When the garage say they can't find anything wrong after we suggested distributor for the non starting, what have they said they have changed/tested and how?
For instance, if they're only trying with 'a diagnostic tool', then on a 5th gen tbh they won't get much info on a non starting problem or with an over-fuelling problem. The diagnostics are pretty limited in comparison to a new car - basically provided the engine sensors aren't open circuit, it'll think everything is ok
It's old skool type diagnosis that is required on preludes, not modern plug and play.
So, for the starting problem, what have they done to test the distributor? Have they confirmed spark is ok?
For the starting problem and the cat burning problem, have they checked and confirmed fuel pressure is ok? (using a pressure gauge).
For the cat burning problem, have they directly tested the lambda sensor and confirmed that is ok?
