:?
I'm not saying it definitely can't be the ECU, but...
They don't just 'go wrong' and when mechanics diagnose the ECU as being knackered... It normally means they haven't got a clue and are just 'box changers'.
Either that, or they've blown it up because they've done something stupid.

And yep, as Drax and Donald have already said, if you do want to try replacing the ECU, then don't even think of going to Honda, or paying to get it 'repaired', just get a known good one off a 5th gen that's breaker on the forum - they have basically zero value (because they never go wrong...) so you should be able to pick one up for peanuts.

Seriously though, guys on here... Is there no-one near by that can go and have a look at the car for/with her?

if you can get it to drive then you're not that far away from PAW if you live in Hereford - they are the best H22 guys on the map 8-)

Not too late, phone them first thing in the morning and request that no more work be done and your ECU be returned (obviously cover the postage). Honestly, you will be bent over by some external company looking at it + the garage charging you whatever for the privilege.

As said, have a go with PAW or even @ted, pretty sure he's not too far from you.

Yep, Ted could sort you out, I'm sure, if he has the time.
Or @Honda-hardy is nearby I think?

This problem doesn't need an h22 specialist per se, just someone that knows old school efi diagnostics.
