At least with the scuttle you could remove it, sand the paint off then respray it matt or satin black easily enough.

Tonys only in Tavistock so he can't get much closer to cornwall if he tried lol

Yea, I had thought of doing that. But replacement probably easier, and better in long run.

Yeah I wouldn't trust sending it in the mail.
My sister lives in Saltash, I'll find out when my folks are next up visiting her, maybe they can take it with them and you can collect it there from her..
