Well today some good news. We've fitted a new servo ( I think that's the fourth in 12 months) and finally the brakes work. Before I start the car the pedal is firm and there's no creep or jumping on the pedal at low speed. They're much firmer and certainly loads more 'grippy' giving me a ton of confidence on the road. Whoo hoo, result!
When the old one came off, Jason noticed that the round rubber seal inside the old servo was rather manky so perhaps it was leaking air (in or out, I don't know which) but anyway, it's job done finally on those flamin' brakes.
T'other issue is the bloody orange light.
We took off the Greddy box yesterday, Jason cleaned the O2 sensor and still, after a couple of minutes driving the light came back on.
He's done a lot of digging around and today he's going to fit a borrowed EGR valve as it's another avenue we've got to try. I know we're clutching at straws but do any of you think the EGR is something that may be causing it?
I should add that now we've removed the Greddy box,
the petrol smell has gone, the engine idle is great and to be frank, I can't feel any difference performance wise so I'm much, much happier about it. Looks like there's going to be a Simonc clearout sale soon as I've got so many bloody bits that have been stripped off they're actually becoming an eyesore in my office. Jason's said he'll put the word out so perhaps I can recoup a bit on the outlay.
