That surprises me.
Is this because of a personal preference for FWD or do you think it's inherent in the cars themselves?

I haven't driven an MR2 so I couldn't comment, but I would guess that balance has something to do with it, the 4G Prelude is almost 50:50 front to rear, I can't imagine the Toyota being as well balanced.. although I'm probably wrong

lol looked at this earlier but missed the DOHC section muppet!

its going to get a damn good service on payday a breath abit of life back into it. I thought it would ideally need running on the optimum fuels :)

Well, 60:40 but handling is one of the Lude's plus points.

The MR2 is 50/50 weight but the Revision 1 that I had is notorious for being a ditch finder.

It suffers horribly from lift off oversteer and is very very scatty in the rain.

When the Revision 2 came, they lowered it 30mm, lengthened the subframe by a couple of inch, added ABS and power steering. All in all the Rev 2 onwards are very very good and well handling cars.

It just didn't suit my needs at the end of the day. I do alot of driving in all types of weather etc so the Lude is the better choice.

Oh! I thought it was more like 58:42  there goes my theory because that makes the MR2 better balanced!

Varies a lot depending on the model...
non european 2.2 auto = 59.6/41.4 :geek:

:? An Mr2 should be better balanced, on account of being mid engined? :?:

EDIT: posts crossed

Anyway...

Yep, I've watched MR2's (Mk 1 and 2) race at Brands Hatch and back ends don't look at all balanced in reverse curve situations - very 'hoppy'...

Just re-read what I wrote and actually it's quite fair to call 58:42, 60:40. So I'll just go home.

So next question for you guys then,

When it comes to the Ludes....are induction kit/performance filters worth it?

I mean with mine being a N/A im guessing not but then again the wooosh noise does bring out the child in me and also not having to change every service is a bonus I suppose :)
