Bringing back the colour??

Evening all,

Since I had my spoiler off, decided to have a little play with T-cut on the bootlid. The paint has come up much better than it was but it is still kinda pink. Just shiny pink now ha.

Anyone got any ideas or tricks on how to really get colour back or is this the best I'm going to get??

I can't afford a respray and it will take me months to save for a wrap. The other more extreme options are to either RAT-LOOK it or do some kind of cammo type affair with off cuts of vynl. Quite like the camo idea which I could do myself saving alot of cash. Could look cool maybe.

You've done well there.

IIRC, you might get the red back by polishing with a DA rather than just by hand????

If not, just enjoy rocking the Milano Pink

Hmmmm good point wurly might see if I can poach one from somewhere see how it goes. I hope it doesn't fade back dead quick. If not I think a wrap is in order.

The Mrs keeps saying 'man up and go with the pink. Only real men can work pink' lol

Yep, obviously be careful not to go too deep with it though!

You won't bring the colour back at all. It's beyond saving. Honda used lacquer on top of the base red. So your basically polishing lacquer.
If it was a solid 2 pack red with no lacquer then you would have been able to restore it.

But good effort of bringing the lacquer up to a shine.

Do you mean an orbital polisher when you say DA btw??

Cheers dude, and that makes sense. My old hilux was solid 2pak and shined up lurvly. I suppose I'll polish it up for now and at least it will be shiny

What do you suggest Ratty? Go with a wrap??

Yes a wrap will be the better solution and more affordable.

Pah not with my wrapping skills, tried to do the sunroof and failed miserably
