Hi, my prelude is sorn at the moment has no tax or mot. I want to transfer the number plate onto another car?? Do I need to tax and mot it just to transfer the plate?? Thanks.

It needs to be MOT'd to register the plate on another vehicle

MOT only required for zero gen (pre-1960 ;) ) but it matters when it was last taxed etc.

if he car has been moted within last 12 months you can still do it .

Oh great, I plan to break the car so didn't want to re tax or mot it just for my plates
