Windscreen Moulding

Post by toadster » Thu Aug 13, 2015 8:31 pm

Lo Peops :D

Does anyone know if the moulding that goes around the windscreen on a 5th Gen can be removed and replaced without taking out the screen ?
I have the laquer coming off my A pillar a bit in places so it would make repainting it easier.

Cheers ;)

I would expect our resident glass expert (Vtecmec) could probably advise, if he wasn't drugged up to eyeballs...

Hammer.

Seriously though, it should come out without having to remove the screen.

Lo All :D

Just reviving this thread a bit.
My Lude is currently in the bodyshop and I have asked them to replace the windscreen trim as they are repainting the A pillars.
So has anyone on here actually replaced the trim on their Lude with a new one without removing the glass :?:

Cheers all ;)

On a 5th you'll probably be able to slip the trim on without removing the glass as it'll go in the space where the old one resided. I only took my screen out as it was a bonded 4th gen. I posted plenty of pics in a thread somewhere on here.
