My tachometer "panics" =(

Post by Kilam » Thu Sep 10, 2015 8:52 pm

Hello everybody,

My name is Malik and i'm from France. I've got a 94' Prelude swaped with a japanese F22Si (166hp) block.

Since 1 month, I've got a big problem. When i drive during few minutes, my tachometer "panics" and it's impossible to accelerate (I feel that the mototr chokes).
I changed several parts :
_Throttle Position Sensor
_Injectors
_Distributor and ICM
And I disassembled and cleaned the air intake... But this problem is always here ...

You can see this on the video on this link

I try to found the problem since one month... but nothing, this trouble is always here :|

In advance, thank you :)

Ive had a similar issue but it was the speedo needle that was bouncing. The fault was traced back to the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the gearbox. I replaced the sensor and that fixed it. You can also check the wiring to the plug on the loom that goes into the VSS :)

Is the distributor tightened up properly? I had something similar on my 5g where I'd only done the bolts up finger tight and they'd worked loose. Eventually the dizzy fell off on my way to work which made me put the bolts in properly

:? Weird one...
I would suggest checking all the engine and ecu earths, all the distributor connections and the ecu connections.
