Two Things You Might Not Know

Post by paul bristol uk » Wed Sep 30, 2015 12:13 am

ONE
You will be charged by law at least five pence for each plastic carrier bag at every shop in England.

TWO
It will be illegal to smoke in a car with children in it. I wonder what happens if the children are smoking and the adults are not?

The only good news is most Police Forces are going to turn a blind eye to this offence.

Children = under 18.

But a 17 year old on his or own in a car may smoke ...
... but may not if someone else of any age is there, too!

Another law not thought through then.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Children are too young to know their parents are killing them and have no choice but to be in the car. If people want to smoke, that's fine/up to them, but completely wrong to force it down the throat of others that don't want it (or are too young to make an informed decision).

Plastic bags totally drokk the environment and we are way too wasteful about them. Oh no, I might have to take my own bags to the shop, from the mounds that I have at home...

Small changes that are hardly going to drokk up people's lives IMO.

I agree, it really pisses me off when I see someone smoking in a car with children. :troll:

already been in place here in Wales for many years. as Wurly says, means people reuse carrier bags more and if push comes to shove, 5p isn't exactly going to break the bank.

We already have the bag thing in wales and we have a boot full for when we go shopping, after about 3 years i still leave them in the boot and have to buy more at the checkout 99% of the time. Mcdonalds is the killer, would you like a bag ? no thanks ill just put my burger in the bag the chips come with for free. Even though its supposed to be a charge for plastic bags it costs you for a paper bag too.

As for the smoking thing well yeah ok but its legal to smoke at 16 so your 16 year old child can smoke in your car on his way to college but you cant. Fecking stupid.

both laws are good imo
its a pity that the government has to legislate for us on these things
given the amount of info we have on these subjects - less litter from use of poly bags and not smoking in the car when there are kids in it seems like common sense :)

Smoking with someone under 18 in the car = illegal
Smoking whilst pregnant = sweet, no problem, crack on love
