Events 2015 - Your Feedback
So this year has been busy, with all the usual shows attended. However, in smaller numbers it seems.
I would like everyone's input as to why they think this is. For those who haven't come along this year, what were your reasons? Car not ready? Bored of the shows?
I realise this may come across a bit shitty, but I assure you it's not. I'm just trying to gain an understanding into how/why we as a club attend shows. Obviously if there's any personal reasons then I'm not asking you to share them!!
I would like to see us as a club have a big attendance at as many shows as possible, showing off the cars we love.
Also for 2016 there have been a lot of people talking about going to Hondafest in Holland. This usually clashes with the same weekend as Japfest so as a club we couldn't do both. I am just trying to get a view on things for next year, so we can start planning and get things in motion to make the shows the best yet for Lude Generation.
Personally, I felt this year Japfest and Japshow had nothing new to offer, but JAE was a fantastic weekend.
Let us have your thoughts!!

JAE was jobby.
Crap company, no effort made for the stand, no entertainment, no actual cars of the right type for the club, dickheads constantly bouncing their engines off the rev limiter...
Oh no.
Wait.
That was ATR OC next to us...

(in all seriousness, well done for posting this gayno, interested to see what people suggest)

Re: Events 2015 - Your Feedback
I struggle to commit to the shows that are more than a day due to running the business and 3 kids so I personally can only do the 1 day shows. Japfest was ok but japfest 2 I thought was a better show to walk around and view but the track viewing was pants. I'd like to attend a lot more events this coming show season and hopefully with LG

Thanks Dan, completely understand your situation so it's difficult to attend.W1ggz wrote:I struggle to commit to the shows that are more than a day due to running the business and 3 kids so I personally can only do the 1 day shows. Funny you say that, I thought Japfest2 was rubbish. Very small show area and couldn't see the track action. I was on my way home by 2pm!!

I think japfest the stands were to spread out and didnt feel like there was much going on there. At jf2 they were all close then you had the sound installs all together and the show n shine. The indoor section was pretty cool with the djs and mcs also the trade area seemed better as well. But I agree the track viewing was terrible if the stands had been open maybe a bit better

That sounds like how Mimms is looking?W1ggz wrote:I think japfest the stands were to spread out. At jf2 they were all close then you had the sound installs all together and the show n shine. I'm really in 2 minds whether to go to the next Mimms or not...
BTW, Gayno, for feedback at the JAE club reps meeting;
I think the layout of JAE at the new site is not great for looking round. It doesn't 'flow' at all in the same way that Wickstead did. Wickstead basically you could walk in a loop (aside from the field by the lake which no-one ever saw 'cause it was buried away behind a hedge) whereas the layout at Newark was all over the place.
The site might not lend itself to quite the same flow as wickstead (aside from the field we were in

Noodles weren't as good as either (bring back the proper noodles man - there is no other!!!) and I want the pukka coffee guy back too. Other than that, the food was better (including the in-house showground stuff).
Trade was utterly jobby, as per. Best trade year was probably 2013 at Wickstead.
The function room they used was good, too. Showers were drokking freezing.
Fireworks were good, but please please please bring back fireworks to music - so much better! (Also make sure the location is added onto the maps, otherwise no-one knows where they are!)
JAE staff were awesome. Even security weren't arseholes (but LG should have special dispensation for late licence music!

Japshow (do they have a club rep feedback meeting?);
The stands and camping being separate is a PITA. Breaks the whole event up, but that's a feature of the site really.
Mainly, pod need to invest in decent new buildings for their amenities (toilets etc.) 'cause the existing ones are jobby - drokked and old.
