Hi everyone. Here to be nosey really lol
After your advice. I've owned my fast cars, Evo, Scooby, cossie and last mk2 focus Rs and now an evoque lol.
My neighbours has a 1997 2.0l 5th gen. She owned for last 12 years.
86000 miles
She not used it for good few weeks and run out of mot this week plus moving.
It failed.
Now she said I can have for free. Now I know it's free but am I wasting my £. As don't know enough about these.
Failed on.
Wiper blades
Front tyre
Emissions due to centre and back box
Headlight not working on dipped beam
Advisory nothing bad.
Bad points:
She never cleaned it lol
Couple of tiny rust bits due to chipping
Needs new pas ext door handle and lock
New Centre and back box
New wiper blades
New tyre
Tsw wheels pants
Welcome all comments.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

not as quick as your list but pretty nippy and the handling will be better out of the box than the others more of a cruiser though in 2.0 guise.
86,000 miles isnt really run in yet as long as it has been looked after

Welcome
With that engine it won't be quick at all in comparison to the cars you've listed there, but they're a great drive. Depends what you want out of it.
2.0 aren't worth much tbh (generally considered less desirable than the vtec's and there are still plenty about) so if you're looking to get rich out of it, you won't fare well. But you can pick up those parts (used) for peanuts, meaning it will cost bugger-all to fix, so if you want a nice car for sod all investment, do it.
