well the auto tensioner's fail but seem only to fail at high miles? i have never had one go on me the manual tensioners have to be adjusted as the belt gets older but with a track car i cant see that happening (the belt getting too old i mean) and you could go for the other tensioners out there the names of which have slipped my mind i know a couple of the guys on here have them

Kaizenspeed is one of em.

I would fit an auto tensioner to a road lude, every time.

Performance/track people tend to prefer manual.

My auto tensioner failed at only 55k miles whilst booting the car on the way home, luckily no damage was done to the engine when it occurred. A very slapping sound occurred which was the timing belt hitting the casing inside. It could have been down to the age or the previous owner not using the car very much.

Rich at PAW installed a manual tensioner for me which has been faultless since the day he installed.

I do several track days hence the reason I went the manual route, I would recommend a manual tensioner if the car will be driven hard.
