If whisky is a key reason for the visit, you need to head east from Inverness, to Forres (about 30 mins drive). There you'll find the Benromach distillery. And at that distillery, magic will happen, and then you'll spend a lot of money on their product
I was £200 lighter when I left that place (admittedly some of that was for other people). The tour is 15 quid, and you'll get 4 drams included in that - which is nice!
