It was a real tragedy and shouldn't have happened (more than enough lessons learned opportunities - including this one 12 years ago, which it sounds like a carbon copy of)

I think you would call that a coup d'etat mate. a well placed match to a curtain, a bit of agitating in the twittersphere and you have a chenge of regime with no blood.
