HT Leads differences?

Post by SiR_Chris » Wed Nov 11, 2015 1:36 pm

Hi all,

I recently purchased some second hand Magnecor HT leads for the H22A off here as I wanted some cleaner ones than the ones I have! Anyway, comparing them side by side they are different:

This photo shows the one I have used for years (the bottom one) and the top one is the set I just purchased. Different shape/size barrel.

This photo shows the difference in the dizzy plugs. The 'new' set does not extend so far and only just makes contact (from what I can feel) with the dizzy plugs.

Can someone tell me if I have been sold non-VTEC version or something? Or know why there are differences?
The 'new' set seem to plug in ok, just don't feel anywhere near of a 'solid' connection as my old ones.... not sure if I should risk it or not basically.

Many thanks!

From what I can remember the bottom one does not look right for the H22. Maybe its because I am so used to the shape of the Magnecore stuff.

Edit - Magnecore leads that were sold on the forum:

Hmm interesting those pics do look like the recent set I purchased. Weird that they don't seem to plug in with as much 'confidence' as my other set

Maybe magnecor changed the design at some point?

Yeah it's weird that there is such a difference between the 2 sets.
