I have mot history but can't remember seeing it on there, so yep sounds like i need to
-replace belt and fit manual tensioner
-check ball joints and track rod ends (for the vibration at 70mph)
-give the car a service as im in there anyway
Roll on the weekend.....pleeeese don't rain.......pleeeese don't rain.. :P :P :D

Is there anywhere in the north west i can get new fobs sorted for the car at reasonable prices? or will i have to bite the bullet and go to a Honda dealer?

Then off to vtec direct for a full check-up at the end of the month :)

any reason you want to go for a manual tensioner? not really needed on a stock car unless you particularly want to.

no idea about fobs sorry, but yeh cambelt and waterpump while your down there are a highly suggested service item for a newly bought lude with no cambelt swapping evidence.

Ah i may need to do more reading on these forums then, i assumed the auto tensioner was crap so conversion to manual was a must? But yep the car will be fairly standard for now as i raise funds for a wedding then in 9 months time its all gooooo :) .... well maybe just something samll adding like a new exaust or new induction.

Are standard parts ok for the waterpump and cambelt or are there better alternatives around?

some people like to swap to a manual tensioner due to personal preference, but their not really required unless your planning to significantly up the BHP figures in one way or another.

waterpump can be picked up from any local motor factors or someone like Euro Car Parts for anything between £20-45, and cambelt wise the generally good quality affordable one is a Gates around £25-30

try Honda Parts for Sale facebook page for an ep3 steering wheel, you may have more luck on that than ebay.

also Gumtree has the odd good stuff so keep an eye out.

Otherwise, have a troll through the parts for sale/5g cars breaking threads for parts your after.
