Type S Pistons swap.

Post by Thebusofwoe » Sun Dec 27, 2015 12:14 pm

Hi guys. I am still around :) , just been mega busy lately :/. Anyway, i got the Type S motor off of Sam and wonder if the pistons and rods could be swapped in to a A2?? Im planning a build starting in the new year but need info.

Merry Christmas chaps. :)

Cheers.

Yes, they can. Crank size differences are only on the main bearings, not big end, iirc.
Obviously you'll need to check individual piston/bore sizes though.
You could just stick with the a8 block though - someone recently posted up showing how an atts block can be fitted to a standard lude box?

Yea i had heard that someone had used the block on a standard transmission. Would be much easier if it could. Was just thinking that it might of been a better idea to fit the pistons and rods into an A2 and build that up instead of faffing around with brackets and stuff. What you think?? The idea is high compression N/A, thats what i want to aim for. So high comp valves ect ect.

I don't know I'm afraid, nope.

:? I seem to recall it being in the last month or so though and possibly from one of our international members? think there was even going to be an offer of supplying the mount adapter brackets? :?
