:(
feel for you
maybe rust was the issue as you can see the onset of it at the back corners:?

after all this you know you will have to get another one....

good ones do come up but generally only once in a blue moon - you can keep any eye on the forum as any good or bad ones on ebay or gumtree are quite often posted up here or you could put up a wanted advert stating exactly what you looking for and see what comes your way ;)

 sorry about that, but at least the parts I bought are still on my car, so at least part of your car lives on :)

I've known Rono for a few years now, he lives local to me, and I believe the shell was disposed of after the parts were stripped. The rear arches were absolutely shot though, which was his main reason for breaking. He's a good bloke, and wouldn't scrap a decent car for no reason.

Thanks for the followup information guys. It doesn't surprise me at all that the arches were gone - it passed 3 MOTs under my ownership with increasing amounts of black duct tape masking the jagged rusty edges!

It's nice to know that she donated her best bits so that others could live on, even her gearshit [sic] gaitor.

Gayno - If you have one, would you mind PMing me an email address for Rono? I'd love to know if he kept anything (a number plate or even VIN plate) of it that I could buy back.

I'm not sure I could buy a different replacement - as nice as it would be to have another prelude it would be just that - a different one...

Different yes but a Prelude none the less. Maybe you need to be taken for a spin in one then try and find a replacement.

hi bud, i had a 4th gen lude, then a 3rd gen, i scrapped the 4th gen at its prime as i hit a financial wall and needed the cash and rust started to set in. the 3rd gen i sold on to another member here. now when it came to sentiment i was gutted to have scraped the 4th gen, it looked amazing.

the 3rd gen i sold to get my type s,

what you need to do is get something better to help you get over your loss. i bought this...

and transformed it to this

but i sold this one too, but i now have a house instead of a rented room.

you need to move on, aim high and aim big. my next goal is an accord euro r CL1 or a uk 2000 lude
