M2T4 and M2Z4 Differences?

Post by P4uk4 » Wed Jan 20, 2016 1:30 pm

Hi,

So, I got my hands on M2T4 gearbox. As far as I know it was available as SiR Access optional thing, however at first I thought that it's S Spec gearbox (later discovered that it isn't. S Spec had M2Z4)

I checked out all the info I could and I noticed that M2T4 has identical ratios as S Spec M2Z4. Also both have LSD.

Co... what are differences between these two? Not that it'll change anything. I wanted S Spec gearbox, got M2T4 instead and I'm still happy with it. I'm just curious.

I checked similiar site and ratios for both are exactly the same. That's why I'm wondering how they are different.

I have no idea why they are coded different but as far as I can see they are both JDM boxes with the same ratios and both have the factory viscous LSD. I think the M2T4 was also available in Accords.

So, it seems that I have S Spec gearbox with different name. Just as thought. Neat. So, I can say that objective with having S Spec gearbox is somewhat achieved :-P

The H22a8 is a UK only engine and comes wit the M2P4. The M2T4 & M2Z4 are both from 5th gen H22a's. I would think that the casing would be identical. The LSD version for the SIR is a rare option.

This is what I think too. Must be a casing difference. Very small difference maybe unless the difference is inside and it being dual synchros on 1 & 2 like the u2q7 and m2p4.
