One the race engine? It is most likely being shipped to PAW. Rich is going to do me a full race head + RBC K20 intake manifold and a load of other bits.

Race engine out

Post by Merlin » Mon Feb 01, 2016 12:46 pm

I have been further stripping down the engine. The IM had all of its bits removed either for cleaning or deletion:

I dont need the FITV and since it contributes to heat soak I am deleting it. You can simply re-reouted the coolant hoses and sandwich a plate in there, leaving the FITV in place, but I wanted to delete the ugly thing.

The blanking plate I made. This will be sealed with Hondabond:

If all goes well I to plan to use a stock UK P13 ECU, however this will want to see an EGR valve. On the 4th gen you are able to unbolt the EGR and relocate the valve elsewhere so long as it is still connected on the loom. The EGR is quite weighty so I separated the vacuum diaphragm from the heavy base, I am hopeful that all the ECU wants is the resistance of the connection.

Separated EGR and EGR blanking plate and gasket.

Engine removal

Typically it was a freezing day :(

3 hours and the engine was out!
